Common Questions About Verizon
Does Verizon charge a late fee? ›
Yes. Verizon Wireless charges a late fee of 5% of the unpaid balance or $7, whichever is greater, when the past-due balance exceeds $7. Verizon Fios and residential accounts are charged $5/month or 1.5% of the unpaid balance (whichever is higher), capped at 18% APR. State law may further cap the fee.

What happens if I miss a Verizon payment? ›
A late fee is added when the past-due balance exceeds $7. Verizon may suspend service if the balance remains unpaid; once suspended, restoring wireless service costs $20 per line. The $10 agent assistance fee applies when arranging payment via phone or chat.

How do I pay my Verizon bill online? ›
Pay through verizon.com/pay or the My Verizon app. Linking a bank account avoids processing fees and unlocks the $10/month per-line auto-pay discount. Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) are also accepted. From a Verizon mobile device you can also dial #PMT (#768) to pay through the IVR.

Can I split my Verizon bill into 4 payments? ›
Verizon doesn't offer a true 4-payment split — its hardship program (Promise to Pay) provides only a short extension on the original due date. For an actual 4-instalment split, Deferit can pay your Verizon bill in full now and let you repay across 4 fortnightly payments — eligibility check before you commit.
How do I dispute a charge on my Verizon bill? ›
Open a dispute through My Verizon → Bill → "Need help with this charge?", or call 1-800-922-0204 (wireless) / 1-800-837-4966 (Fios). Disputes must usually be filed within 180 days of the bill date. Pay the undisputed portion to keep the account current while the dispute is reviewed.

Wireless: 1-800-922-0204 (Mon–Sat 8a–7p, Sun 8a–5p local). Fios / home: 1-800-837-4966 (Mon–Fri 8a–7p ET, Sat 9a–5p ET). Online chat: verizon.com/support/contact-us. From a Verizon mobile device, dial 611.

Where can I find my Verizon account number? ›
Top-right of the printed bill, the "Account" line in the My Verizon app, or in any billing email subject line. Wireless account numbers are typically a 10-digit phone number; Fios account numbers are 12 digits.
Customer Service Tips for Verizon Customers
Have these ready before you call. Account number (10-digit wireless or 12-digit Fios), billing ZIP, mobile number or service address, last bill amount, and preferred payment method. For mobile support call 1-800-922-0204 or dial 611 from a Verizon phone — wait times average ~12 minutes Mon-Fri, shorter on Sat-Sun before noon ET.
How to read overage charges on a Verizon bill. Overages appear under "Plan charges" with a per-line breakdown. Check the "Data this cycle" graph in My Verizon; if any line crossed its plan limit, that's the trigger. A one-time data boost (paid in-line) usually costs less than the overage itself — apply it before the cycle closes.
How to lower your bill. Compare the latest statement against plan charges, device payments, taxes/fees, protection plans, and add-ons. Cancel unused add-ons (Disney+, Apple Music, Cloud, +Play subscriptions) inside My Verizon → Account → Add-ons. If the goal is a one-time payment shortfall rather than a permanent reduction, Deferit's Pay-in-4 splits the bill across 4 fortnightly payments instead.
